Frequently Asked Questions
Weddings
Q
Can we be legally married by a Civil Celebrant?
Currently in England and Wales only Registrars and designated religious clergy and officiants can
legally complete the marriage documents.
Therefore your ceremony would be in two parts - the legal marriage and the Wedding Celebration
Ceremony.
Q
How long does the legal marriage take with a Registrar?
The marriage with the Registrar takes between 10 - 15 minutes. You repeat a legal declaration,
exchange your vows and sign the marriage register with two witnesses; you do not need to
exchange rings as this will be a special part of your Wedding Ceremony.
You can arrange the legal marriage before or after your Wedding Ceremony. You can keep this
private if you wish, as your Ceremony will include the exchange of vows, giving of rings, the
pronouncement of your union and much more.
Q
Q
Q
Once we have completed the legal marriage are there any restrictions regarding
the time or place for our Wedding Ceremony?
You may choose any day, any time and any location. This is your special day and together we can
create a magical event.
How do we decide on the content of the Ceremony?
You will have an initial free consultation meeting to discuss they type of Ceremony you would like.
Once you have confirmed your booking there will be regular contact by phone and email to design
the service. You will have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of readings, poems and
blessings, or you may have already selected something that you would like included.
The design of the Ceremony is not complete until you are both in love with it.
How many Wedding ceremonies do you conduct on one day.
I consider it a privilige to be involved in your special day and only conduct one Wedding Ceremony
per day.
